Baptism:

Your family must be registered members of St John Neumann Church and attend mass on Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation. Children seven years of age or older who have not been baptized are required to complete one year of our Religious Education programs: SPROUTS (Pre-K4 – 5th Grade), EDGE (6th-8th Grade), and LIFE TEEN (9th-12th Grade) with a minimum of 80% attendance and to complete a pre-Baptismal class before receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. Also, the parents and godparents are required to attend a pre-Baptismal class for adults and complete all the other parish requirements. Ideally, the baptism should take place during the summer after the first year of faith formation. For more information about Baptism, please contact Cindy in the Parish Office.

First Reconciliation:

Your family must be registered members of St John Neumann Church and attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation. Preparation for the sacrament of First Reconciliation is a two-year process. Registration for religious education is required each year and children may begin the two-year preparation process for First Communion as early as 1st grade. Children must attend at least 80% of classes each year as part of one of our Religious Education programs: SPROUTS (Pre-K4 – 5th Grade), EDGE (6th-8th Grade), and LIFE TEEN (9th-12th Grade). Each Religious Education year runs from August through early May. If your child completed the first year of preparation at another Catholic parish, you must provide an official attendance letter from that parish. In addition to weekly classes, parents are required to participate in multiple parent sacramental meetings, and there is a required First Reconciliation Retreat.

Registration for Religious Education is required at the beginning of every year. After receiving the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, children are encouraged to continue growing in their Catholic faith through our Faith Formation programs: SPROUTS (Pre-K4 – 5th Grade), EDGE (6th-8th Grade), and LIFE TEEN (9th-12th Grade). Each Religious Education year runs from August through early May. Online faith formation registration typically begin in March.
